73rd Annual Bike Week Rolls Into Daytona Beach

Beginning March 7, and carrying on for 10 days, the 73rd Annual Bike Week will entertain nearly 500,000 motorcycle enthusiasts who make it an annual pilgrimage to celebrate at multiple locales throughout the Daytona Beach area. Whether weekend riders, everyday bikers or die-hard collectors, visitors will enjoy scenic rides in the sunshine down historic Main Street and Beach Street, along Atlantic Avenue, the scenic Loop and 14 miles of hard-packed sand.
“This is an exciting year for Bike Week,” said Sharon Mock, interim director, Halifax Area Advertising Authority. “The Daytona Beach area is realizing incredible economic development presently with Daytona Rising underway, One Daytona and the Hard Rock Hotel & Café planned, and the world’s largest collection of Florida art soon to debut at the Museum of Arts and Sciences. Warm weather is predicted for the event dates, so we want everyone to have fun and stay safe.”

Sponsored by Amsoil, Budweiser, Dodge Ram, Geico Motorcycle, Harley-Davidson Motor Cycles, and local partners the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort and WHOG-FM, Bike Week 2014 has a number of exciting events in store. The 10-day event hosts live entertainment at Riverfront Park Rocks, and renowned bars like Full Moon Saloon and the Bank and Blues Club among others; bike shows including the 23rd Annual Boardwalk Classic Ride-in Show, Ladies Ride-in Bike Show and Chopped Baggers Bike Show; rallies along Main Street; and, special events like the Alligator Road Tour Motorcycle Ride. Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona on North U.S. Highway 1 in Ormond Beach, home to Daytona Harley-Davidson featuring a 109,000-square-foot showroom, will host the event’s largest concert – Great White, March 15. High-flying two-wheel action can be enjoyed at the ‘World Center of Racing,’ Daytona International Speedway, during #Daytona200 Week. A spring tradition, activities include Florida’s only 2014 AMA Supercross event, Supercross by Honda, March 8, featuring side-by-side racing action by riders like James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto, Chad Reed and Ryan Dungey.

On March 13-14, enjoy the Daytona Flat Track, a quarter-mile race showcasing AMA Pro Grand National Championship and AMA Pro J&P Cycles Pro Singles riders going all out. And, March 15, witness America’s top motorcycle stars as they battle during the 73rd running of the Daytona 200.

    When will we have a searchable data base by topic? Many other digital services provide this. As they say a little more bang for your buck. Print and digital subscription rates are way too equal. Make it worth my while to pay for digital.
