2017 Indian Roadmaster Classic Long Term Magazine Project

2017 Indian Roadmaster Classic

There is a lot of talk these days about the new Indian motorcycles, so we at American Iron Magazine thought it would be a good idea to arrange for a long-term review/project bike and report what we find – good and bad – about the 2017 Indian Roadmaster Classic we have in our review fleet.

Our 2017 Indian Roadmaster Classic in the American Iron Magazine office paring lot with the trunk off for better around town riding.

We haven’t had many opportunities to ride it as much as we’d like to due to the unusual heat and heavy rain here in Connecticut. A few initial observations include:

PLUS: It handles better than expected for a bike this size.

PLUS: The high-tech accessories are easier to understand and use than low-tech editor Buzz Kanter expected.

PLUS: It looks and handles better with the trunk off for around town riding. It is easy to remove or re-install with no tools.

MINUS: There are no locks or locking options on the trunk or saddlebags. This could be important on a touring motorcycle. We are looking into locking options for the soft leather bags.

More to follow over the next year.
