MOTORCYCLE NEWS Harley-Davidson First Quarter Financial Results

Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE: HOG) first-quarter 2013 diluted earnings per share increased 33.8% on higher motorcycle shipments and continued improvement in operating efficiencies, compared to the year-ago period. First-quarter net income was $224.1 million on consolidated revenue of $1.57 billion, compared to net income of $172.0 million in the year-ago period on consolidated revenue of $1.43 billion. First-quarter 2013 diluted earnings per share were $0.99, compared $0.74 in the year-ago quarter.

Indian Motorcycle Rally In May

In 10 years, the annual “Indian Rally on Indian Point” (IRIP), has become the largest Indian Motorcycle centered, motorcycle rally in the nation. Indians lead the way at this rally but all makes and models of bikes are welcome. As usual, the 10th edition will be situated in the Ozark hills on Indian Point Branson, Missouri.

Harley News: More young riders, women, minorities choosing Harley-Davidson

In 2012, for the fifth straight year, Harley-Davidson was the No. 1 seller of new street motorcycles (all engine sizes) in the United States to young adults ages 18 to 34, women, African-Americans and Hispanics, as well as Caucasian men ages 35 and over, according to Polk data cited by The Motor Co.
