Default American Iron POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have subsribed to American Iron for the past 12 years. I didn't recieve the July issue. I emailed customer service three times and still haven't recieved it. When my subscription runs out I will not renew it. I'm have no patience for people that ignore their customers. The
missed issue should have been sent the first time I contacted them. Good by American Iron

I have to agree with what you say in your post. Three emails should have gotten you a response. Hell, the first email should have gotten you satisfaction, and that missing issue to boot. In our (American Iron's) defense, the fulfillment house that handles our subscription matters is a separate entity in a separate location several states away from us, and so we don't have as complete a control over them as could be desired. They seem to be genuinely interested in fixing their mistakes, but I can see there will probably still be some learning curve to deal with. Did you go through the web site subscription issues section, the "Contact Us" page, or did you email them directly through the listing in the magazine? I am trying to trace what may have gone wrong here.

Default Missing Issue

Hi Mike
I emailed from this site. A woman named Ogla ( i think) emailed me back each time . She said she would send it on to the publisher. Its not her fault so I don't want her to take any blame. All I want is the missing issue (JULY). I have enjoyed this mag for years . Please get me the missing issue . Thanks for responding so fast and explaining the problem.

Hey Jim,

You ever think your missing issue is sitting on the top of your mail carriers toilet? We just got a new mail carrier a few months back and all of a sudden half my bike mags dont show up. I was told to contact the infamous "postmaster" whom is like a ghost. Better luck getting a hold of the president. Incidentally.......what happend to the plastic sleeve AMIRON used to come in? My last issue what half destroyed. Mike

Botz:
Many years ago I wanted to play guitar, so I sent off for the Roy Clark Big Note Guitar book from Mel Bay, and proceeded to wait forever for it. Then one day I saw my mailman picking guitar on the "America's Got Talent" TV show. Seriously, I don't know anything about the plastic sleeves -- maybe it is a cost-cutting thing gone bad ("When Plastic Sleeves Go Bad"). I'll pass this on to Buzz and see what he thinks about it.

Sorry jwp883 that you had a bad experience with customer service. The one time I dealt with them it was via telephone and they were very helpful. I don't know how I would cope with life without the Harleys; I don't know how I would cope with the Harleys without AI.

Well put, shovelmike. I agree. jwp883, I really think you should reconsider. Then again, I didn't have the problem. I had only 1 problem in, well, a long time of 'scribing to this mag. Just like Botz said, it was the carrier. What a job!

Honestly, I think you'll be cheating yourself out of a good mag that helps to keep us informed of the current status of things, be it why the twin cams run hotter, or just how rare that featured antique scooter is. This is the only mag I have found that covers so many areas of interest in our expensive and sometimes frustrating hobby. I also subscribe to another m/c mag, and let me tell ya, the last one I got was more like a pamphlet. Boy was I hot. I READ this one; I LOOK at that one. I may be doin a little less lookin...

Yeah, 94. I was a long time Easyriders subscriber. With AI we get even better technical info without all the dumb jokes and risque/porn content.

Default Customer service

I want to thank Mike for sending me the July issue. AIM is a great magazine and I wouldn't really cancel my sub. So ignore all my cranky remarks I made. AIM took care of me and I want to again thank Mike. I'm just getting grumpy in my old age.
I must really love the mag to go through all this for a missing issue.
