Smile Trend setting Buzz???

I have been a subscriber since around 1994 and I really like the magazine and I will continue to subscribe. I do, however, get a laugh sometimes when I read Shifting Gears by Buzz Kantner. His last article states "Who knew I'd be a trendsetter back in 1995 when I first strapped a set of black leather saddlebags on my 1947 Knucklehead. It makes sense that more Harley riders are discovering the joys of having onboard storage, and that the trend is now called baggers. I guess I was way ahead of my time. That's a first!". Maybe Buzz could hook up with Al Gore, the inventor of the Internet, and they could run for President and Vice President and travel across the Country campagining on their Harley's, wireless Internet equipped laptop computers in the saddlebags.

Jeez, perhaps I was too subtle. That was exactly what I was trying to make a joke out of. Me "inventing" baggers is silly, people have been strapping on saddlebags since before I was born. It was my attempt at humor - guess I'm not as funny as I had thought.

Of course I didn't invent baggers or start the trend. How could I have started a trend if it took 12 years to catch on.

Happy Harleydays and I'l try less to be funny in the future.

Buzz aint the only Trend Setter. I blacked "Flat" out my jugs and gear covers a couple years before Harley did.

Met with good approvel. However since I did not powder coat it started to scratch and bubble a bit. Yup used the wrong stuff. I ended up up getting new jugs when I upgraded to a 1200 and the covers I got chromed.

If I was to do again. I would get em powder coated or use stove/fireplace paint.

But yes. I started that trend and a few others. So Buzz. Dont be to proud. Take the credit!

You be surprised were some trends start.

Smile

I had someone else read Buzz's artilcle before I posted my first comment. This person thought the same as I did. We thought he was serious. I apologize if I offended you Buzz. My post was also an attempt at humor.
