Adam, here is something everyone could use and easy to make out of scrap aluminum parts and stuff laying around in the garage, a handle bar camera mount.
This would make an interesting article, and can be made with regular wood tools most guys have.
This would get guys thinking about doing stuff themselves and besides there are places that sell them, get them to advertise in the issue for the guys who didn’t know they needed one until they read the article and who would just buy one.
I have attached a couple of photos that I took while we were in Arizona a couple of years ago, they were taken with the mount I made, while running down the road at fifty miles an hour.
You can also use the mount for digital movie.
If you are interested let me know, I have a design and have made several and would be more than willing to show how it is done.
Another thing I think would be real interesting for your readers a how to, about home metal casting.
This is a new hobby that is taking off.
Show how to make wooden models, make sand molds from the models, make the furnaces out of scrap parts, melt the aluminum and cast the part. All in your back yard, out of old beer cans. Well actually scrap aluminun is better because it takes so many beer cans, but the beer can is a better teaser.

I have been wanting to get into this, belong to several internet groups, but just don’t have the time, have too many projects going.
I would like to make a custom tail light, the old style like the old cars that came off the car about six inches, tapered down then got big again, with the license plate mounted on the top, or bottom. You would use a lost foam casting for this, but I am no expert here just want to learn.
I also want to make custom mirrors with Harley Cruiser cast in the back, and floor boards, long like the banana boards with slots.
Anyway I think Crime Scene chopper does aluminum casting, or at least they did, they probably farm it out now or I am sure one of the advertisers, does. If not I can give you some sites that would get you started.
Or who knows maybe one of the posters in here is doing it.
anyway here are the photos.
