I just read your article about "respect & prejudice". You say "This wasn't the first time, as a biker, I've been discriminated against". First your not a biker are you? Next, maybe it was the fact that you were all wearing shorts and tee shirts to a upper end eating place that got you the attitude not the fact that you like motorcycles. You say you want the "lifestyle" then you must live it, not hide behind Jesus, women and children. You don't get it and your magazine has come to reflect this attitude on this web site. I know you have to have guide lines to sell your product, and if this is what the majority agrees with so be it. I just don't buy into it, so cancel my subscription please, I've seen more that enough.
gee what happened to you. I thought it was a good article and I have felt at times when a group of us go into a place dressed in leathers - the place gets quite but they never have refused us service.
But what ax are you grinding here?

There are two theories to arguing with women. Neither one works
Yeah... what Texan said. I am totally confused as I enjoyed the article.
I think this site and the mag have always been about representing what and who you are.
What boxes could Buzz Kanter possibly not have checked to fit your ideal of a biker?
If you as me, if you love to ride, then you are fully justified to call yourseld a biker. Heck, call yourself whatever floats your boat.
After all, I'm sure Buzz didn't use the term to try to gain acceptance from a real biker like you.

I can see no reason to be angry with Buzz for writing down an experience most of us have had. It was right on target. Ofcourse not everytime but it has happened. I have been treated quite poorly at motorcycle and car dealers because the salespeople assumed that I didnt have enough money to buy anything. They were wrong and payed the price. I simply went to the next guy until I'm treated with the same respect that I treat everyone I meet with.

Cams, I think you are missing the point. You are showing the same prejudice that Buzz was writing about.

Maybe somebody peed in 4cams cheerios that morning? If people in a business look or talk down to me I don't bother giving them any of my money. Somebody down the road will be friendly and accept me as I am (might be bikers themselves) and they'll get my money.
