Default Donny's Articals

I got a potentialy stooooopid question.

How long has Donny been writing his tech artical? when was the first one.

I was thinking of buying the past issues I dont have, but wanted to start with the one that has his first artical.

If the answer is 20 years.... I guess I better win the lotto!

thanks

Thumbs up Re: Donny's Articals

Hey unc, not sure when he started writing the articles but you can buy his books "Donny's Unauthorized Technical Guide", which I think most if not all of his articles are from. I do not know how many volumes there are but Volume 1 is on the Twin Cams through 2008. Great reading. Just looked at the back page and it says there are 12 volumes so that might be as expensive as buying all the previous article in back issues of AIM. I know I have learned a lot by reading his articles and Volume 1. Easy to read and even a non mechanic like me can understand what he is talking about.

Thanks Sgt,
I did get the book last month, and was looking at the articals, and didnt see that they were from the book! duh, told ya it may be a stooopid question. I will crack open the book and get started.

I just found Donny's Volume II, shown in Sept AIM on page 168. "Performancing the Twin Cam"

Seems like AIM adds more pictures. I like Pictures.....................

Edit:

Right on the back of his book it says he has been writing 'Techline" for AIM since 1992. I just answered my own question!

Donny has been writing for American Iron Magazine for many, many years. Don't remember when he started but we do have most back issues of American Iron Magazine for sale at GreaseRag.

If you are going to buy a lot of these back issue you might ask for a discount - ya never know.

Scott I agree that the AIM Articles come with more pics. And if you have the money getting all the back issues of AIM would be great! My problem is with keeping so many mags and and trying to find the right article in all those mags. With AIM putting the index of the year online it makes it easier. Good luck!
