Default More Harley Baggers In Magazine?

As the eidotr-in-chief of American Iron Magazine I wonder if this thing with Harley baggers a short term fad or a long term trend?

It seems I have had saddlebags on my Harley motorcycles about as long as I can remember as I find them useful to carry the stuff I like to have with me (tools, rain gear, etx).

So should we continue to feature more Harley bagger customs and stock Harleys in the pages and cover of American Iron Magazine?

I have also managed to put some type of stuff carrier on almost every bike I've owned. My own thoughts on the bagger trend is that the major portion of the Harley demographics is to a point that the comfort and convience are paramount. Most of the riders 10 years ago on baggers were over 50, now I see young (25 to 30) people on touring bikes. I for one think the bagger era is just getting started. One of your competitors has a mag devoted to baggers. Is there any way to see what the subscription #'s are?

Hey Buzz....

Seems to me you'd grace the covers of your mag, and inside articles, with something that appeals to the majority of your readers. What kind of riders are the majority of your readers, do you know?
Personally, I think baggers in your magazine would be fine---- as long as they're made prior to 1965!

I'm waiting for AIM to come out with a vintage-only rag--- any thoughts on that?

That would be me. I'm 30, last year I was on a chopper and now this year I'm on a stripped down Ultra I named "Street Classic"

Let me make sure I have this straight. On the cover you want Harley bagger motorcycles from 1965 or earlier, and - it this correct - models made after 1965?

I used to publish a few vintage only motorcycle magazines including Old Bike Journal and Indian Motorcycle Illustrated. Tough way to try and make a living, but ya never know.

No, I think you know I'm more into older bikes, Buzz. (Note the word "prior" to 1965---- that's also kind of a joke, because before that there really wasn't such a thing as a "bagger".....)
That's all I was saying, and that's just me. I know the market would be pretty small for a vintage-only publication............

I got your Baggers & Bobber special issue.

Would you guys consider a regular American Iron bagger magazine? I'd subscribe.
