Default What is your favorite classic Harley

I am a big fan of classic Harleys (and Indians) and would like to know what your favorite classic Harley is.

Please vote for your favorite one here.

Talking Surprized ??

I have 2, The last pan,1st electric start 1965 FL full dresser of course. The 1st shovel 1966 FL full dresser. The 66 black shovel has kinda grown on me. I think I favor it more than the pan. I would,nt be opposed to being the proud owner of both. I would,nt object to a red 66 shovel, so long as I could drop a little S&S 93 action on it,and yell " Fire in the Hole " Show one and HAWG the other.
Funny you should ask. I have to admit Ive never owned a Harley. Im a little ignorant to a lot of things on classic iron. I actually came to the forum tonite to ask a question about classics. Youre poll above speaks of cone side and flat side. I think that means: flat side is like the pan side; cone is like the evo. so the earlier shovels would be flats and thats where its at for me. Look at the post to see my question.

To me, the Knuck is the best looking bike Harley built. I love the classic art-deco styling, but the motor itself is a work of art, especially those rocker boxes. Over the years, the rocker boxes have become plainer and IMO less interesting...kind of like modern archatecture has. The details are what make this bike stand out, and it comes from a time when fine ornamentation was designed thoughout the bike.

Thumbs up Self Education

I found a decent book on classic Iron. Now I know a flatside, early shovel was the pan case with a knew top end on it.

I am torn on this. I voted for the Knucklehead, I too love the Art Deco styling. The thing that makes it hard is I am also a little biased toward the Ironhead Sporty. Not so much because I think that it looks as beautiful as the Knuck, but I got my first Harley 4 years ago and it was a 74 XLCH. I always loved having a group of people around me waiting to see how many times I would have to kick her before she started. First kick most every time. I sold it to a buddy of mine on the cheap so he could have a bike, with the condition that I get to buy it back for the same price. It'll probably be mine again next year.
