Question Old Cycle Electric Generator Regulator Question

does anyone know how to wire this old regulator? i have what i think is a modle 500 its on an old 72 ironhead. the two lugs in question are on the outside and on top. i think they are field and ground lugs but im not sure.also if this is right, which is the field and which is the ground. there are no markings on it.

Default Gen wiring

I can dig out the wiring diag if you need... but I would and did go with a "frank" it;s much better than the regulator.
