I've got a 1960 FL bobber which i've had since '97. It's got a hard-tailed frame, Shovel jugs and heads, S&S carb (though nearly done with adapting a modern HD/Keihin CV for it), '70s rear wheel with disc, '73 XL front end (disc) with wideglide yokes, Lockheed calipers front & rear on home-made mounts, after-market sprung solo seat, fenders, bars, headlamp etc.

So i'm not sure how much of it is still actually HD, particularly with the tranny and motor rebuilt too (much of the internals are now S&S, Jims, etc.), so does it still count?!?! Well, it still says "Harley-Davidson" and "Year of manufacture: 1960" on the log-book (that's the title document here in the UK), so i guess it counts ...?!

I've tried to post a few pics, but i'm not very good with this digital stuff so not sure if it's working ...

Ho hum, the pix didn't work (at least they don't on my 'puter, just little boxes with "X" in them). If you're interested you can find them in my photo album at http://www.aimag.com/forums/members/...n-cropped.html

Thanks to Buzz, I too, have gone to the dark side. I now have a '71 Shovel in my Stable.

First picture is the way I got it, and the Second picture is how it set's today! I will complete it this winter.

It's not an American bike but I own one of these, made in the DDR
MZ TS250

I've had it a couple of years, I originally planned to put a sidecar onto it but never got around to doing it.
My Dad is looking to return to biking after 25 odd years so I'm giving him a lend of it in the near future.

On the subject of classics I'm going with Dad to the classic bike show in Birmingham November - really looking forward to it. I'll post some photo's here if there's any nice classic American stuff there.

I have a second year Evo and a last year 4 speed, I know that doesn't count as a classic but it might in 20 years.

I guess my '83 Ironhead Sportster could be considered a classic, since it's over 25 years old and has an engine that's of significant design.
