Default New On-Line Magazine

Well, after a lot more time and effort than he expected, Buzz and the gang launched a brand new and free on-line magazine for classic American motorcycles like Harley and Indian.

Based on their very popular Classic American Iron bulletin board (similar to this one but focused just on old bikes) last night they took the Classic American Iron magazine live as an extension of the forum.

To visit go to www.caimag.com.

Buzz has asked us all if we have any suggestions or ideas on how to make it better please to let them know. Buzz said this is all very new for them at the print magazine company and they know there is much for them to learn over there.

I wish them luck - it's pretty cool already.

Hey Baggerdad, that is way cool, been over there, and found this, just watched part one, it is a step by step video of the build of Buzz's '48 Panhead Crusteration. You guys have got to check these four videos out.
Make sure you go all the way down and it is to the right.

Great site and yes, those videos are amazing to watch. I read about the bike in American Iron and think this is cool too.

Sure hope they put up more videos there.

Man I just watched the other three videos, this is awesome stuff. Buzz if you are reading this, you need to stretch this, to a half hour, and push it for national TV.
Make five more, one about the 31, and one about Wheels Through Time.
This was cooler than anything on the set now days or ever.
You and Dale should both should move to Florida, or at least get winter homes here, so you could ride/shoot year round. Move the office, the museum.
I know a small town by Palatka that is about fifty miles from Daytona, fifty miles from me that is old run down railroad town. You could buy the whole downtown and make it a tourist destination. Shoot the show there have the offices there.
Have all the guest come to you.
Have restaurant, a bar.
Destination American Iron, the magazine and TV show.
I’m telling you, Dale and you are naturals.
We will all say "I new them when."

Unless I am wrong, I think this is typical of the videos Dale shoots at Wheels Through Time and posts on his web site fairly regularly. Buzz happens to be in this one because it was his bike they were redoing.

Sure hope they also videotaped the 1931 Maxton race bike too. If so it might show up at www.caimag.com one of these days.

Yes, very cool - Dale is a natural and Buzz seems pretty comfortable in front of a camera.

Exclamation

I checked this out yesterday morning (10/31) before leaving with a few friends to take in what we expect to be about the last of the good riding weather (and colors, etc) for this season...and have been thinking about this on & off ever since before giving my opinion.

I really like the format and subject matter..and think it'd be a good idea to do the same with AIM too. Because as much as I'd hate to see the "rag" go away (eventually) this seems to be the way of the future/present...and it's best to get in on it ASAP and GROW with it rather than follow others. That and the video stuff is really cool. But something was mentioned about turning this forum into that...and I'd really-really hate to see that happen...hopeing to see this kept seperate and not get lost in the shuffle.

I’m sure Buzz won’t mind me plugging Dale Walksler site.
I just went over to Dales Wheels thought time site.
What a great place.
He has a bunch of videos of classic bike restorations.
I know they were taking a video of the AIM 31 race bike can’t wait until it comes up.
Wheels Through Time - Home
I would like to see more videos over here, maybe a readers rides, readers build video section, and how about a Blog in this forum.
Also while I'm making suggestions I would like to be able to store more photos here so that I don’t have to place them in a separate site that keeps threatening to delete my photos if I don’t buy something from them.
It would be a shame to build up all these cool videos, and photos here in the AIM site only to loose the photos if another site went down, or deleted them.
I’ve had to move photos then edit post to the new link before and it is a hassle.
Yea that's what I want!

Hey HC
Making it simplier to post photos/videos would be a big plus...especially for simple guys like me. In fact I've been meaning to ask if the recent server change included that..like now maybe being able to copy/paste from emails, etc !?!

Otherwise, I've thought that what we do here (by those who can) is pretty much what you're suggesting...pictures,videos,designated topics, blogging and all...no !?!

Default Great Video - Way Cool!

I just caught that crustoration video this morning....great piece! I love stuff like that in the morning. After I get up, I sit in a catatonic state until everything kicks in and gets working, kinda like kickstarting a shovel in Spring. So watching that video was a cool way to get fired up this morning!

Making that 48 look old (or show it's age more)...how cool was that! Here's a couple of shots of what I will call an "all natural" or organic" crustoration. I drug this FLH out of a barn after it sat for nearly 9 years. Now it runs like a watch just looks like.....!
