I am at the Spring Moto Giro in the Catskills region of New York state and am updating the first of the 2 day event here. I am pleased to report there are several very nice Harley Sprint 250s competing here this weekend.
It's a classic bike enthusiast's dream!
My pal and riding buddy Jim Sims is on his 1967 Sprint, and there are at least 3 or 4 more other Harley Sprints here too.
The Moto Giro is a time distance event held on the public roads open to motorcycles made pre-1968 and with a maximum displacement of 305cc.
While most of the bikes seem to be Japanese, there is always a handful of Italian bikes (I am competing on a 1966 Ducati 250) and occasional British and Spanish bikes too.
Yesterday we did a 70 mile ride in the worming, stopped in Woodstock, NY for lunch (still a lot of hippies there) and a 50 mile loop in the afternoon. Today is 100 miles.
I'll post some photos when I can. Off for the second day of competition in a few hours.
