Hi Guys,
I am doing my home work for a winter project. I have a few ???. I have a 03softail with an 88b in it. On a 95ci upgrade if you bore out the cylinders do you have enough meat left to keep from having heat problems. If you get cylinders from HD or S&S are they cast to size or just punch out 88's. Can you go over 100ci with out stroking. Thanks for all your help. Have a great Friday!!!

My OE CV carb on my 2002 FLHTC has been modified with a Dynojet kit. And I don't know exactly which vendor's kit was used. But I still want to tune on it some more. I would like to try some needle tricks to get better mid throttle performance. But since I don't know the specs of the needle that has been installed before I bought the bike, I don't know what needles to buy or where to get them.
Can anybody out there help me fill in the blanks here?

Front Rotor and Brakes

OK I was at odds on what to call this thread because it could have been "Frisco-Rigid is #1". My front rotor was in bad need of replacing. 55,000 miles and it was getting worn. Pads were also needing replacement. After reading all the threads I decided to go with "Floating" Rotor and Kevlar brake pads. I live 100+ miles from any Harley shop or indy shop that specializes in Harleys. So I did what I usually do I got on the E Bay site and scoured the site for the best price discs. When I found a couple I was interested in I got out the JP catalog and checked there also. I decided to go with a set of Chrome Rotors from Demon Cycles and I ordered a new Chrome axle with spacers from bk-ryder also on E Bay. Reason I wanted a new axle is I have spoked wheels and I want to get a wheel stand so I could check my wheels at each tire change. I have a spare set which I got a couple years ago from.. you guessed it, E Bay. Anyway so I had to go to Phoenix and I contacted Frisco and asked him if he knew any reputable shops around because I wasn't sure my head would take me doing it (I suffer from massive headaches due to a disc slipping) and I had never done Brakes myself. Frisco offered to help me if I was so inclined and I agreed. So we set it up and I drove the 187 miles to his place. Let me tell you that Frisco is a first class guy and his Hunny, Linda, is great also. Make a long story short we were able to change the Rotor and brakes with Frisco telling me what to do. And I think that is the only way to learn is by doing it yourself. Head started hurting right towards the end but my wife showed up with some muscle relaxers that bought me some extra time. Linda made a real nice snack platter and the wife and I enjoyed their hospitality and friendship. By this time the head started going through the roof and I took some Darvocets pain pills and hit the road on the bike back to our Hotel. One not so bad thing with these headaches is riding my bike eases them up. By the time I arrived at the Hotel Room the brakes seemed like they had settled in and I had better brakes than it had when it was new. I can use one finger and pull the brake lever back and it stops like right now! I have had to relearn how to brake they are so good. I was a little hesitant about using the chrome rotors and Kevlar brake pads but I had read several threads and an article in JP catalog that said they would last longer and now I am glad I went with that set up.

I also want to publicly thank Frisco and Linda for their Hospitality. They are really good people and I am thankful for this site as it allows for us to get to know each other and help each other out.

Thanks Frisco and Linda you are #1 in mine and Donna's Book!

I am constantly working on bikes. Generally with the owners, hanging out and sometimes teaching. I don't do it for the money, I do it to help and for the brotherhood.

However...now on the lift, is a 2002 HD Softail Deuce. I have a budget and bardered some home painting for my work. So I guess my first drop off and paid job.

its been rode hard and put away wet several times. Despite its ruff exterior its still a solid running bike. Rides smooth and likes the right grip twisted.

Here's how it came to the garage...

Rusted heat shields from dragging them (bikes from Fort Brag area)

Bald rear tire

Wonder why? See little pieces of burnt rubber

SE tuner

K&N air filter at least

So under close supervision I pulled the rear wheel for tire replacement

Always take a pic of the rear axle and spacers for future reference

Found a broken belt gaurd that I fixed
