Default Road King Windshield

The windshield on my RK has gradually developed some sort of a "haze" or "clear coating", on both the front and back. In the past I have only used clear water and a cloth for cleaning it. The "coating" has defied all my arsenal of cleaners, polishers, waxing, etc. I have even resorted to Bon Ami, Simple Green, and a paste of baking soda. So far the best method has been using my finger nail to scrape it off with water. No scratches yet from any of the above. I soaked it in a bath tub of water over night with no help. Thinking about a solution of weak vinegar next.
Any one experienced this?

Question

I had something similar on the car dash. I believe it was armorall that caused it. The problem was overcome by using a lemon cut in half and rubbed on the plexiglass. may be worth a shot?
