Default Monkey business...

I've had it with t-bars! Everybody and their dogs have them... I'm thinking of putting 16" x 1.5" (black) apes on my Night Train. I've seen them on a standard softail, and like what I seen but, I've never seen them on a Night Train. I tried 13" apes and found them a little low-- 16" apes however, puts my hands at shoulder level, and are very comfortable! Anybody seen a Night Train with apes before? Bet it looked quick a$$...

Almost 50 views... not one answer! Pretty safe to say that this isn't an apes kinda crowd I did find this pic of a night train with apes. The risers are longer, apes are shorter and the angle is toward the rider more than I'd want them. But, it looks pretty good nevertheless. I'm looking into Carlini Gangster apes... anyone with first hand knowledge of them... anecdotal even?

Just so you aren't all alone here: I get enough grief from other VRSC riders about my sissy bar. I don' know nuttin' about no apes. I saw saw pics of a VRSCA with apes. To say the least, it was ugly.

To each his own. Never liked apes cause the higher they are the harder it is to steer the bike. But your bike, your call.

I've had them on 3 or the last 4 bikes I had... the handling thing is a myth BTW. Installing apes is like adding power steering to the bike!

I like apes on some bikes. The nite train would look cool too. I wouldn't think my opinion or any one elses mattered...the ganster apes are too much bling for a nite train though.
cheers!

It's great that a thread that was started by a reincarnated VTX Honda troll who was banned and banned again but still had some great responses to the thread long after he was gone. I think apes are cool. They represent a time in my early bike life and continue on today as a nostalgic remembrance and I still think they are so cool. I wish I had the money for a bike I could build from my early memories of Harleys with a raked springer front end, V shaped tall sissy bar, up swept fishtails, and apes....just too cool.
