What is the average life expectancy of HD OEM tires?

On my Sportster I go 5000 on the rear and 10000 on the front. I ride hard and replace them when the wear marks show.

Smile OEM tire life

On my 02 Lowrider; I got 13,000 on the original tires.
Second set is right at 14,000 and will be replaced in another month or two.
I ride conservatively ( no burnouts, hole shots etc) Usually at or slightly above speed limits and almost always on paved roads.
Dunloptires both times, and most likely the next set will be Dunlop also.
There are a lot of good tires out there; but I've had good luck with the Dunlops.

10,000 mi. is about the most I can get out of any tire OEM or not. I live on a gravel road and that helps grind off the tread, my Ultra is ridden mostly 2 up and we aren't feather weights. The Sporty, and Superglide aren't much easier on them.

I was up close to 20,000 on my sportser tires. I changed but had a few more miles left on the tread.

Riding style and Road surface has a lot to do with it. I dont spin em unless I plan to change them soon. I hit the corners nice fast but smooth. From what I have seen I musta had some freak tires from the factory. I ride the same and I notice my Avons are wearing sooner. They dont seem to stick as good in the rain.

I have consistently gotten 12-13K on my rear tires over the years. I usually replace the front tire every second rear tire. I've got 13K on the rear of my dresser right now, and may get another thousand before it is replaced.

Hey Steel Rider, wondered what kind of wheels you have, spokes or mag? I am riding an 03 RK with spokes and worry about blowouts riding two up with my wife.

This has been my experience... I am changing over to Michelin Commanders when I replace my OEM's...

I got 11K on the sporty stocks. The rear are low on tread and the front still have good groves but the side wall is starting to crack. Looking at the different metz out there.
I dont do burnouts and want a softer rubber for better grip.

Hey, thanks for the info. I do not ride very fast with my wife on the back anyway, so that gives me a little lattitude. I plan to replace my spokes with mags when I get new tires.
