Default Harley Rumors

Jeez, it sure is quite around here these days when it comes to Harley rumors.

I heard a whopper today that I can't believe. I is that Harley is negotiating to buy Italian sporbike manufacturer MV Agusta. While it might be true, I doubt it. Too crazy, especially if you remember what happened when Harley bought Aermacchi in the 1960s.

What rumors have you heard about Harley? Please share.

Default Only a Rumor

One that I heard through the grape vine...

By 2012, all Harley motors will be liquid-cooled.

In other news:
I was answering a few questions about the recent purchase of my Electra, and the questions went to what features I liked and disliked, and what I would like to see in the future. From the way I was being steered, I got the impression that they are kicking around a Gold Wing/Victory Vision type cycle. Adjustable windshield, built-in GPS with maps, and, most-puzzling, a centralized "info-tainment" center, complete with touchscreen.

I also have a hunch that the MOCO will expand the recent "Dark Custom" model group to include a new Touring family member. Sort of like a Street Glide, but with all-black powder coat motor, black exhaust, low windshield, etc etc you get the picture.

Of course if they call it the NightGlide, I'm sure to have something to say...

NightGlide...

Thats what I'm waiting for. An all black (flat black even better) StreetGlide. If that comes out in 09 its gonna be hard for me to keep my hands outta the bank accnt. Although I swore I would stick with my EVO. Two bikes cant hurt. Any more rumors keep me posted. Botz

Hey botz, two bikes never hurt! Make sure you keep your evo! Water cooled? I think that's more fact than fiction. If your going to get one botz get the 09 because in 2010 emissions are going to get a lot stricter!

The emissions rumors sound real and I'd be surprised if Harley doesn't come out with more "dark" models which have been pretty popular.

I am curious what they have planned for the Fat Bob.

I read the same thing Buzz. I think it's a good idea, I'd like to see scooters from Italy on the showroom floor of my H.D. dealer. At $4+ a gallon, why not?

If Harley brought back an updated version of the Hummer or the Topper, all us old farts would be buying our grandkids one!
