Default emergency drive belt

99 FLSTS and the drive belt broke. I have always done my own work and intend to pull the primary to do this as well but would like to finish out the next couple of months before beginning this project.
I have had an emergency drive belt for some time and never used it, how many miles can I expect to get on this? Or is it just a couple hundred mile device? I'll probably put on 1 to 2k before the end of the season, think I can make it?

havnt had experience with the E belt but looking at it I wouldn't want to run it more then I had to. Kind of like running a car on the doughnut spare.

Hey Rieg

Sounds like you're my kinda guy..

I'll bet very few folk have the innards to even try this E-belt much less run it to possible failure..

If you're willing to experiment with the longevity of this item, your Hands-On First-Hand results will benefit everybody else's curiousity.. Good man..

Keep em posted..

Uhhh,frisco...
I don't think the man was VOLUNTEERING to get this INFO "hands-on,first-hand"...for OUR sakes.
Sounds to me more like Rieg was FISHING for some OTHER brave-soul who's "been-there & done that" already.
Like,you know...BEFORE trying it himself

Rieg:
OK..all kidding aside...I have NO idea, as to how long or far that E-Belt will take you...nor,apparently, do others here.
All I can suggest is that IF you're going to try to make it last the season...just don't be taking the bike any further from home, than you can manage to get it home W/O a belt...or get yourself another E-Belt just in case....
Yeah,and,uhhhh...good luck with that !!!!

Rieg

One of my reasons to join these forums is to encourage guys/gals to experiment and do and learn for themselves and I always offer assistance from my own "Hand's-on"..
You know---If ya don't do then ya won't learn..

Since you do you own work (my kinda guy) I think you're smart enough to know your limitations so you don't need a body to suggest what you already know..
I bet you got the Brass to do it..
Then YOU will be the man that knows the answer when someone else asks the same question..

I could give a rats ass,, I run chains..

The e-belt wont last,it's made so you can limp home. The only one I've seen used barely made it 80 miles & it was wallowed out & ready to come off.
