Default Speaking of the new touring frame

Since the new frame was mentioned in another thread, I thought I'd ask, Why the frame change? Any chance their thinking of a liquid cooled (v-rod engine) tourer. Or is it just another change to make more money. Interested in opinions, rumors, thoughts, whatever.
Thanks, ride safe.

In my opinion the new frame is the MOCO's effort to address issues with high speed stability, payload capacity, and vibration isolation. The old frame has served well but was designed back in the days when a big twin was 74 cu.in.
Day to day use by the customer will show whether or not there are practical advantages.

If it shares similar (but different) mounting I doubt it is for a liquid cooled engine, but you never know.

As I understand it the new frame is quite different and so is the swingarm.

OOPS. By the way the swingarm accomodates a new dual compound 180 tire. That should help with touring and 2 up loads

Thanks Shovel. I've posted before, just not a regular poster. I read the forum every day. My frame question comes from frustration more than anything, but that's another story. I hope to see more reaction to my original post. Be safe.

If HD was planning to introduce liquid cooled V-twins and modified the frame for it, why would the liquid cooled version not be introduced at the same time? From everything I've read and heard, its to address the ride. Makes me want to go test ride an 09 just to see the difference.

Thanks Fender. I've read the same stuff. It just makes me wonder. HD seems to make change gradually, so.........we wait and see.
