Default lone wolf or run with the pack?

im just kinda curious to see how many riders out there prefer riding alone or joining an mc.so far (only about 6,000 miles) i've ridden almost exclusively alone.thing i like about it is you go wherever the heck YOU want to go,no worryin about anybody else, kinda gives you a little time to get introspective and just think.however i did ride with the american legion riders once when i was home, and that was pretty cool, cuz you go around welcoming troops home & stuff,it's for a good purpose.anyway, just tryin to get some different opinions, points of view, what different people think are pro's and con's of each, etc.

99.9% alone
I go on one tiy run per year that a chapter of a club puts on and that's it.
In fact today's the day for the run....40 out, cloudy with the threat of rain or flurries....kind of the norm for Illinois in November.

More & more I find myself (early-retired/widower/etc) going solo...doing my own thing,my own way and getting AWAY from things

Occasionally, about a dozen or so of old friends (some since Grade-High School) still get together for a Saturday or Weekend run...and I have NO qualms about them riding a little more aggressively than some folks,at times. Because they're GOOD at it...they don't get STUPID about it ...and are very predictable...not (?) to mention hilarious.!!

What I really don't care for are the "Organized-Cluster-F***s" like HOG & OTHER runs...where there are just way too many "wanna-be-bikers" with little if any real experience...putting EVERYONE in harm's way like bowling-pins and/or dominos.

Yep, 99.9 % solo for the above reason and just plain not having to adapt to someone Else's riding slyle, restroom stop schedule, etc. When the wife and I get on the bike it's our time to unwind.

About 50/50 but, really when I'm not alone it's either the wife or a buddy from Desert Storm/Shield days. The same reasons tried riding with a group and you have folks that ride differently than I do, I quit the 90-95 mph long ago no longer bullet-proof ya know.

Mostly ride alone or with my wife riding her own bike.
I do like to go on poker runs and tribute runs where all bikes are in procession.

My wife and i ride alone, can go where we want when we want. If it looks like rain or are getting tired and want to cut the ride short we can. Not obligated to ride at certain speed or particular road. Also riding with numerous other riders in my opinion is not safe. We pick the time and usually try to pick a destination prior to leaving. We are both goal oriented and this gives us a destination to ride for and not just riding to be riding. We often take side trips along the way if something we know is in the area, but in most cases we know where we are heading when we leave home.

About the only time I ride alone is when I ride to work. There is a group of us that try to get together on the weekend and go for a spin, but it is the same folks all the time so we are all familiar with each others riding styles/ habits.

Week days usually alone because I work 4AM to noon so there aren't a lot of friends around when I'm ready to ride. On weekends there are a few people that always agree on where to ride to and never in a big hurry to get there so just cruising and enjoying!
