| | | Bluetooth headset for H-D Road Tech Zumo GPS A few weeks ago I purchased a Harley-Davidson Road Tech Zumo GPS. I purchased both motorcycle and automotive mounts. It came with a earphone, but I'm considering buying a bluetooth headset. Does anyone have a recommendation for a bluetooth headset that would work well on a motorcycle? |

Do a google search, go to their website, and find a local dealer.

I tried several bluetooth units with my Zumo on the bike and didnt like any of 'em. The sound quality is just not there in my opinion especially when your doing 70 on the road. I tried wired ear buds on the last big trip so I could listen to tunes and they were much better and they eliminated the wind noise as well. HOWEVER, you cant hear whats going on around you and their a pain in the azz whenever you stop. SO I solved the problem by spending 22K on a StreetGlide with a patch wire directly in to the radio. Problem solved Botz

| | Re: Bluetooth headset for H-D Road Tech Zumo GPS My J&P catalog indicated that they had Bluetooth software that would allow their headsets to communicate well with the system in our Ultra, I checked with my local J&P dealer and it seems to still in the development stages. When my wife heard what the price tag would be she decided she didn't mind the cords so bad after all.

| | | Re: Bluetooth headset for H-D Road Tech Zumo GPS Thanks Eze. The Scala Rider has noise cancellation and automatic volume control. That must be the combination that works best on a motorcycle. In Minnesota, helmets are optional, so I checked into the Motorola S9HD headset. It has the same problem that Botzman, ShovelMike, and Texan321 mentioned, which is, you can't hear it when you're running at highway speeds. Thanks everyone. |

| | Re: Bluetooth headset for H-D Road Tech Zumo GPS I have a bluetooth headset that I use in my Big Truck. It covers one ear and has a boom mike, band goes over your head. It's Called a "Blue Parrot" and works very well in the truck (which is noisy as he__). but I haven't tried it on the bike yet. Soon as the weather co-operates I'll give it a try and let you know. Tried the Scala Rider Q2 at J&P down in Daytona. It works real good, but its pricey at $400 per set, but they have lower priced models as well. |

| | Re: Bluetooth headset for H-D Road Tech Zumo GPS We got a Scala Q2 a month ago, and have been really happy with it. Bluetooths to two different devices (phone and GPS or whatever) as well as 2-way intercom, with no wires. Also has a plug for you to listen to your I-pod or mp3 player.
No problem hearing each other at 70 at all. Two thumbs up!
tip: Look on Ebay. You can find them over 100 bucks below retail.
