I have been told that the Dynojet Power Commander V is the best and easiest
control module to to use. After installing this unit , does it automatically adjust the EFI system to work with these add ons?
The Power Commander is a good unit, I have one on my 02 Ultra. It does not self adjust, unfortunately. The Power Commander website has a lot of maps for various combinations, you should be able to find one that is a good match. I am in the process of trying various maps because all the maps with aftermarket cams had the 95 cu. in. kit. It's easy to load maps and see what works best.
Shop around at several different vendors online, you can save some money and most will preload the map you need if you let them know how your bike is equipped.

With respect, your Power Commander is a PowerCommander III most likely. The NEW powercommander V is compatible with the new PowerCommander Auto tune. It comes with o2 sensors, and will allow the PCV to adjust it's base map to compensate for air cleaner, bore, stroke, cams or anything else you decide to do to the bike.
The drawback, it's still a Piggy Back Unit. It also requires TWO auto tune modules, one for front, and one for rear. When you add in the size of the PCV, and two auto tune modules, you're working pretty hard to find a place to put all the boxes.
I'm unsure of the cost, but the ThunderMax unit has had great reviews, and replaces the ECM. So there are fewer pieces to hide and tuck away on the bike.
Other units that aren't discussed much, include the Master Tune. It is made by the folks who made the original race tuner, and can use the switching sensors to help you develop a map for your bike. www.mastertuner.net

Thanks for bringing me up to date, RJ, no offense at all. I, like everyone else here, am here to learn all I can. The EFI scene is changing every day it seems. I've read a lot about the ThunderMax and it looks good, from what I've seen you will have $850 or so invested by the time you buy the ECM and the auto tune module. The good stuff is never cheap, and the cheap stuff is never good.

The only problem so far is that the Thundermax isn't yet compatible with the throttle by wire on the 08 and newer touring models. I think they are working on that, though.
Hey shovelmike MR.MF here just put the pc III usb in my wide glide along with the stage one air cleaner left the exhaust alone and down loaded a program or map for my bike thats it and it made a big difference in performance by seat of pants dont take the battery out though or you may have to reset the security system good reviews of the pcIII usb on these forums good luck
The Power Commander for the 09 Harley's is the Power Commander V or PCV
I have a 09 Dyna and just got done installing one. Very easy to do took all of 20 minutes. You do not have to install the auto tune o2 sensors with it. You can Install them later if you would like. On my Dyna I have the Rush 1.75" slip ons and I installed the Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner. Dyno Jet has a map on there web site that matches that setup exactly. And it has the Rev Extend feature in it also. Personally I don't know off hand what the red line is with or without the rev extend feature is. I can tell you that after I installed the PCV I did notice a difference in power. The bike runs smoother and it seems to rev easier. The reason I say it revs easier is I never hit the rev limiter before I installed the PCV, after I installed it I've hit it quite a few times allready. Also you will notice your gas milage will drop. I was at my dealer today to make an appointment to have the bike fine tuned on there dyno through there tuning link setup with DynoJet. They said they would be able to really get the max out of it and even extend the rev limiter a little more through there Harley Davidson software and even improve the gas milage. Right now with only the map from there web site it does run fine, there is a little decel popping I just want it to run as well as it can. Overall I wouldn't hesitate on installing a power commander unit. I've had a power commander on 2 bikes now and they both ran great with them on.

I don't believe the PCV can change the rev limit. It is programmed into the ECM and the PCV, being a piggy back device does nothing to change that setting.
I don't understand how your dealer is going to increase the REV limit. I know how you can do it, with a SEPST or MasterTuner, but if you already have a PCV, then by increasing the expenditure on ANOTHER fuel management device doesn't make sense.
Be sure to understand what they're doing to your bike, and how they're doing it. It just doesn't sound right to me.
