Default J&P Cycles open house- who's coming?

Just wondering who might be planning on coming to J&P's open house in June? I see in the May issue Buzz plans on attending again this year. If there's any interest maybe we could plan a time and place for an AIM meet & greet or possibly we could plan a bit of a ride? I live about 30 mi from J&P so I do know the local area, maybe a ride around the Amana Colonies (good German food, wineries, a brewery & scenic roads) or somewhere else.

If anyone has any interest let's see what we can do!

Cat.... Thats a fantastic offer, and I hope you will be able to get people on the forum who are close to meet up.
I think it is great when forum members meet up and get to ride together.
I belong to some other forums and have met many from around the country.
Iowa is just not in the plans for me this year, being laid off and all.

Sounds like a great idea. Not sure if I will be on 2 or 4 wheels (prefer 2) but let's plan an AIM get together or ride or something. Thanks.

Ok, let's see what we can get going! Saturday or Sunday? I'm guessing since AIM & Roadbike is sponsoring the ride-in show on Sat, Buzz might need/want to be present for the awards @3pm ? If we just do a meet somewhere it could be about anytime either at J&P, the museum or Scooters?

If we do a ride, 1/2 day around the Amana colonies, quick trip to Sutliff Bridge (30-45 min one way + a while to enjoy the river and a burger & a beer) or any other suggestions? I can run a route to get ride time & mileage if either of these sound interesting. Buzz if you come in on 4 wheels we can probably find something for you to ride. If I can get some time away from work to get the Tiger going you're welcome to ride that! I was up at J&P to get some new chaps today & got talking with the salesman. He's the grandson of the Triumph dealer in Waterloo, said he might have some rims to fit my Tiger. I might need to find someone to teach me how to lace up some wheels.

If anyone needs lodging, AmericInn is building a new motel right across the street from J&P. Don't know if it will be done for the open house but might be something to check into. AmericInn Hotels: Official Website of AmericInn Hotels Located in 22 States

Let's hear some suggestions & wishes so we can do this!

That sounds like a lot of fun. I'll have to try to make it up there.

Only 1,991.4 miles from my house. I think I better pass this time.
You all have fun.

I could be looking for something to do about then, I'll know this week if I'm getting laid off. Maybe then cut south and go see my dad in California. Hmmm.

Ok, I finally had some good weather & some time off to take a ride from Anamosa to the Amana colonies! It would be about a 115 mile round trip from J&P to the Amanas and back. Riding time would be about 45 minutes each way plus whatever time we would spend touring/sightseeing.

Here's a link to the Amana's website.Amana Colonies

Sutliff Bridge would be about 50 miles round trip, riding time would be about 30 minutes each way.

Here's a link to the Bridge. Baxa's Sutliff Store & Tavern - Contact

How about we meet Saturday afternoon to say hi & if there's enough interest maybe we can make a ride on Sunday?

Let me know what you think!

Jim
