Default Racing????

OK gang. How do you feel about more race coverage in AIM? How do you value coverage of the various types of Harley racing? What's intersting to you - drag racing, dirt track racing, road racing or hillclimb? Anything I overlooked?

The racing covereage I see is fine. What sucks is that HD/Buell seems to be only racing against other HD's and Buells. Drags I can understand, but I'd like to see any inroads made by Buell into races that Speed channel acually shows on Tuesdays. When I see that a Buell rider beat a Ducati or Yamaha for a top ten position (dare I even think top 3?) then I'll be a lot more into the racing scene. It's a shame, too, because Buells are great machines and I try to support what they are doing with the racing that they have, but they gotta start playing with the "big boys".

Buy American! The job you save will be your own!

I rarely read the racing coverage in any magazine; it's an automatic page turner. The FLASH concept is cool because they are street legal bikes, you make them prove it and Shovelheads have had a strong showing over the years; but I even skim through those articles pretty quick.

I'm not big on the racing stuff, but have no qualms about it's being an attractive facet of the motorcycle world for others.

Racing updates come thru the regional free rags, the AMA magazine, and ThunderPress. Most dealers post the sponsored riders results on the dealer site. Don't need race stuff in a mag I pay for. Do like articles and tests on the bikes. Did anyone here actually go to the races at Daytona or Sturgis? I didn't.

If AIM readers are not into reading race results, how about coverage of the riders and/or the actual bikes?

Bikes?
Maybe .... if there's something unique or special about them.

Riders?
Maybe .... if there's something that sets them apart from the rest of the pack.

Just my opinions.

I think this must be the tough part of your job. Making these decisions correctly will determine whether, or not, you will have the opportunity to make them again in the future.

And, the worst part is that the decision must be based on something as fickle as our likes and dislikes .... and we all know that opens up a horrendous Pandoras box.

Good luck .... (just keep me happy .... whatever that takes).

Does this site automatically delete expletive posts? I've written stuff that is automatically zapped...must be.
I watch FLASH because it seems real. Buell...if they are a
real sportbike division, they need to step up and make machines that have the HP those guys are looking for. 103HP may sound impressive to some, but not when 150+ HP is available on the floor.
