I've been hearing rumblings that Harley might be considering shutting down the York, PA plant. Not sure if this is real or not, but might make sense based on the dropping demand for new Harleys in this economy.
Anyone on this forum know anything more about this?

I also know a big dealership in Trenton closed very recently and in a hurry. Customers were called to get their bikes out of there and people were sent home on the spot. Damn, I don't like this economy at all.
Here's some food for thought, you can interpret any way you want. Here in the land of tulips and windmills in west MI, a lot and I mean a lot of JCI jobs were sent south of the border to manufacture car parts for the auto mfgs. It's awful coincidental the new CEO of H-D came from JCI and now there is talk of moving out of York. That ladies and gentleman is how it started here. Maybe, just maybe it's moving to the non-union south.
HD needs to do what is in the companies best interests. If that means moving to my beloved South, so be it. There is a huge upside to all this. There are plenty of people willing to work for fair wages, and cities that would provide tax incentives for them to relocate there in a business friendly locality. The above mentioned incentives will certainly benefit the MoCo during these troubled times.
They may be thinking further south than Alabama there sir. South of the border don't always mean south of the Mason/Dixon. I know I think the same too but, we can't have it that way all the time.
