Default Feedback from Military Folks

Got a request from a member of our Military about making sticker plate mounts for US military registration stickers. Any of you guys that have to run these stickers on your bikes I'd like to hear your feedback. I was told a mount 2"x6" should work.

Thanks for the help.

Something along these lines...

Thumbs up Re: Feedback from Military Folks

I'm not in the Military anymore but I would to have loved one of these on my 74 Super Glide when I was in. Great job. You hit a home run on this one!

Good idea again, I fabbed up a plate to go on my bike and after a week a gate security person stopped me and showed me the reg where the registration is applied to a permanent fixture on the bike. I knew the guy and he gave me a week to correct the situation. Now yours looks pretty decent but placed between the lower tree and fender is asking for fender damge, can it be reversed and cover the fork brace?

SCPO USN (ret.), 24 years.

First thanks for the feedback. So far we haven't actually made one but that was one that the guy mocked up and sent me. We could change it to mount vertically at the fender mounts, use the brake caliper bolts, or even bend it up over the lower brace like suggested.

Would most likely do them in a High Gloss Powder Coat Black or maybe even in a brushed stainless.

There is a move afoot in the DOD to eliminate those stickers due to expense. They finally figured out since 9-11 they have 100% ID check anyhow before you come on the installation why spend money on a sticker that can be duplicated very easily. At the base I work on they have already done away with them.
