Default california motorcycle company "wideglider"

just received it, shipped from castle rock colorado. a 1997 silver cmc wideglider. Looking for assistance or some knowledge about the bike, the company that built it, where the builders might be now. I know Indian purchased them, but now what. I live in rural ohio and while it turns heads and is a rare breed in my part of the country it has been almost impossible to find a shop that knows anything about it. I have little information on the bike, a short spec sheet and a manual that tells you little to nothing. It has an 88ci S&S superstock engine. Any information from the biker world on this bike would be appreciated.

thanks....

Ok wideglider i'll give you what i have. CMC built the official 1999 Daytona Bike Week motorcycle and were the second largest manufacturer of american motorcycles at the time and were Kelly Blue Book and N.A.D.A. Billy Garcia was the engine builder for CMC at the time so he's probably the one who built your 88ci S&S engine. Their web site was www.cal-mocycle.com and were one of the few companies to have a web site at the time. Their address was 7560 Railroad St Gilroy California, 95020. They wre also the ones that built the reproduction Captain America and Billy Bike from the movie Easy Rider. Are you sure your bike is a wideglider and not a wide rider? I hope this info helps you out, good luck.

I photographed that bike for the cover of American Iron and of all the crazy memories I have from the road, I'll never forget the intense smell of garlic in the air. Gilroy CA is the "Garlic Capital" of the world! What does your bike smell like wideglider? LOL!

My wife's previous husband had a 1998 CMC, but I'm not sure which model. It was black, and it ran really well, but he and the bike are both gone.

I do know that the hardware on it was a different thread than most of the HD stuff. I think it was all fine thread (24 thread per inch). He had a hard time getting a rear brake line for it.

Sorry I can't help more.
