Man, what a deal. I'm glad the people involved came out OK, don't know that the Hog will ever be the same.

The thing is he was only parking... not really riding at that point.

I'm also surprised how un damaged the bike appears to be.

What a terrible thing to happen to that Harley rider. Regardless of how his Harley bagger looks sitting in the river, if it has water in the exhaust, EFI and engine it probably has invisible damage. Perhaps it will work out ok, but perhaps not.

Sure glad the rider walked away and wonder what happened to the Harley.

If you read the posts on the link site, the owner contacted the rider who helped him at the scene and stated the bike was a total loss covered by insurance. As others have stated, just dont see how he managed to run the front end off the black top with all that room there. If you see how the other bikes are parked it seems he tried to park in the same manner and overshot his turn....ooops. I learned very quickly to not maneuver my big bike in the same manner as the dyna. It just dont work. BOtz

man, what luck!....and its not even out of the water yet!... There is alot of potential for damage getting the bike back up the bank and over all the rip-rap and boulders that are used for erosion control.
Weve lost 8 or 9 folks this year already on the dragon and there still lots left in the riding season. The latest was a gal fron san antonio a few weeks ago and a woman from british columbia last week. probably gonna loose a few more before the leaves fall for the winter. Its really not that bad of a ride, but like many things, its only as dangerous as you choose to make it.....

VERY TRUE grndpndr. I'm good friends with a few locals and whenever I see something like this I usually ask them about it. They usually know the real story.

When I went, as stated in my thread, a month or so ago. I had been there on a rocket. I did the whole "how fast can I got thing", so there was no way I was giong to wad up my NEW bike. So I just took it easy, had a good time, and enjoyed the land.

I did however tell my bud who had never been there and usually will try to prove himself. To take it easy, what you screw up in this corner might not get ya till 2 corners further.
