I can't even think how it must feel to lose a loved one to a drunk driver. What I think most of us can relate to is that this tragic event has devastated two families, friends and employees. If you want to bash Billy Lane, I would ask you to think of his family and friends. For some the only thought should be, "there but for the grace of God go I".

My guess is that he'll get a new lawyer and get the sentence reduced on appeal.

HDDON.... YOU ARE ABSOLUTLY CORRECT. BUT BUY THE GRACE OF GOD....
All involved have lost, but this is the price we pay when things like this happen.
We should not judge to harshly, we'll be judged the same way as a result!

As for work...there's always the bus.
Hey no problem... everybody should just jump on the band wagon and load up on him. The world vs Billy Lane... that's the ticket.

People make mistakes. I have watched many make worse ones than his and get less sentancing.

People do make mistakes, and some chose to make terrible and life altering mistakes. Ultimately we are the architects of our own life and we have been given free will, using it for good or bad is entirely up to us.

Ok, lets keep the ball rolling........... How much time do you think someone should get for killing someone while they're texting or talking on a cell phone while driving? They know that they can kill someone just as easily as a drunk driver can! The sad thing is they were stone sober when they did it!!!

I'm not going to be for or against him, he screwed up.
He'll finally do his time.
