Angry JCourneyaP Downed(hospitalized) by Cage

Spent the better part of an afternoon up at the emergency room with most of Joe's family today. He had gotten up early today to wash and wax his scoot before going to a class reunion. Then on his way home a gal in a cage did a pretty darn good job of trying to take him out. He was cruising home when the cage took a left hander right in front of him. He hit the left rear quarter panel of her car and superman'd it over her trunk before he crashed down on the hard pack. He did say he was mad that he got to do a couple of summersaults, but crashed down before he got to do a full twist.

He's got a long road to recovery now. The last count I heard was 11 broken bones. He has so many that I will probably get some wrong and forget some, so bear with me as I'm no reporter. He has a broken right toe, right foot, right ankle, left finger, left wrist, left arm and left shoulder. His right wrist is sprained and last I heard they were taking him back to Xray because his left ankle was hurting. In 7 to 10 days he's going into surgery to get his shoulder worked on. Not sure what they will do, but probably pins and plates and such.

The only really good news so far is he's alive and still able to harass the nurses with his same old crude dry sense of humor. That and so far his CAT scan came back clear. I'm sure they will keep an eye on that for a while, but it seems his head is just hard enough to take a little blow. He must have gotten real lucky and not hit the deck with his head too hard. Still we are hoping he dodged that bullet just in case.

Laying in the ER he had his AIM friends in mind and asked me to let you all know. I know this goes with out saying, but of course keep him in your thoughts and prayers for awhile. For now his little lady and a team of nurses are tending to him. I'll try to stay informed and keep everyone up to date until he gets back online.

Tony

Thanks for the news,Tony. It's not what I woke up in the middle of the night hoping to hear. But it's definately better than I feared at first. It seems as though he toughed it out. I'm glad to hear he still has his WIT etc. And I'm sure it's safe for me to say that all his FRIENDS here will be pulling and praying for his quick and full recovery.

Tried to clarify the thread title. I guess it's too late for that. Perhaps a mod can do it for me. Apologize for the fear.

Tony let him know we are thinking and praying for him. Sounds like it could have been worse but we will keep the prayers for a speedy recovery.

Keep us informed of his progress.

Damn,

Tell Joe to hang in there. Gonna be a long road to recovery. Let him know Botzman is pulling for him. I feel his pain. He'll know what I'm talking about. Glad he's still his old sarcastic self! Thats a good sign. He's in my thoughts and prayers. These damn left turners should be hung. Tell him to have her phone records checked. Texting/talking at time of accident while driving will aid him in recovering his losses ten fold. If he needs any advise let me know. Unfortunately Im getting too much experience with this type of thing lately. The AIM boys are pulling for him. Botz

Not to worry,Tony...there was nothing wrong in the way you wrote anything. I guess my fear for the worst had more to do with a combination of my only being half awake in the middle of the night (hit the sack early after long day) and the fact that the bad news was coming from someone other than himself...knowhutImean !?!

Anyways...here's hoping you'll keep sending us better & better news 'til he can do it himself...any my trusting (no doubt) you're relaying all his friends best wishes to him in the meantime...thanks again !!!

I hate to hear this news. Thank God he wasn't more severely injured even though it sounds bad enough. I hope he has a smooth recovery and gets back on the air soon. Keep us posted.
