My first Harley (a 95 flhtc with 74K miles) will be shipped here within the next couple of days. I have lots of mechanical experiences including being an A&P on everything from Cessnas to B1-B Bombers. This will be about the 12th bike I have owned. Even though it is running great now, I know it will be a matter of time before I have to get into it. I see that the HD manuals are more expensive (of course) than the Clymers. Are they both equal in what they cover? Some say the Clymers are easier to read. Anyway, I guess all this would be a matter of opinion as well. I know I want to get this manual on it's way so I can start reviewing before the CO Winter sets in... Thanks. KM
Thank you for your kind and speedy replies. I would think that getting the Clymer would be like translating one language to another: Something is always lost in the translation. Best to hear it directly from the source. I had not thought of it in those terms before. I will get a shop manual ordered right away.
You'd probably be more happy with the H-D manual. I'd buy the H-D parts book, too.
I agree with the HD Manual and the parts book. I think I have learned as much from the parts book on how things go together as I did the Manual. I think both are indispensable.
