Thanks Unclepsycho, I wasn't aware. I need to get from under the rock. Doesn't appear to be my kind of association. I'm for education but not indoctrination or propaganda of the wrong kind.
Safe trip!

ABATE does do a great deal of good mostly. But I dont always agree with their persistance in the helmet laws. But that is a seperate debate..

Great and funny sign!!

A.B.A.T.E. is a great organization.
They will continue to fight against unfair laws and all tactics that come against our right to ride free.
To say you aren't for that type of group shows your ignorance of all A.B.A.T.E does to fight for YOUR rights... ALL of your riding rights. They have stopped the Federal government from implimenting the blackmail tactics of holding highway funds unless there was a national helmet law. The also stopped a bill that would make it illegal to ride your motorcycle through public parks, they have stopped the insurance companies from excluding motorcycle riders due process because our "sport" is to dangerous.
Get to know your local A.B.A.T.E rep. and talk to him or her, you'll learn just how much our government wants to put us out of business and take away all advantages of enjoying our lifestyle.
Don't keep your head in the sand anymore, you will lose all freedoms concerning your bike, don't believe me?? Visit your local A.B.A.T.E rep.
Or, you could just sell your scoot and say nothing.... like you'll do now!
Or join, and give power to folks who'll do YOUR fighting for you!!!!

Right On street bob. Every rider should support ABATE. They are our voice in the political arena. Without their vigilance, things would be very different, in a bad way. Here in Wisconsin, with the help of ABATE, there are enhanced penalties for right of way violations where an injury or death occurs to a motorcyclist, bicyclist, or pedestrian, such as being left turned, which is often discussed on this forum. In the mid 80's you had to parallel park your bike, now you can angle park up to three bikes to a parking space. If you are at a red light and the light doesn't detect your bike, which often happens, you can now proceed through the intersection after waiting 45 sec. if there is no traffic. These are all laws that were pasted with the help of ABATEs never ending commitment and dedication. MRF (motorcycle riders foundation) is the organization that is our voice on the federal level in Washington DC that also needs our support. If bills and legislation are stopped at the federal level, chances are they won't make it to the state level.
