Bummer Gents, with not only inconsiderate fellow riders but I too have concerns over all the new technology....my last bike was a '94 FLHT that was damn near flawless, never once leaving me along the side of the road.

I suppose when venturing out for a distant ride it's smart to know the locations of HD Dealers along the route.

What's with fellow riders NOT stopping to help? Even if they are on different brands, they are still riders.
I don't get it. I am willing to help out a brother rider whenever needed. Been there often enough myself not to stop and at least try to help.

Wow, what a bunch of cry babies, I've been on the side of the road pleanty of times, some time out of gas ,loose tappet block bad plug wire and some times just to take a break. I would stop to help any bikers if i new they needed it but I can't read minds. Don't expect people or bikers to pull over and you won't be dissapointed if they don't. I ride for the indepedence and depending on my self,i carry extra plugs oil and a full tool kit for any one who needs them and there is great satisfaction when you pull away from a break down on the bike not on a flatbed and it's also a great song by the stone's.

Mr.Capy

If you kept your bike functioning and Maintained you would not be on the side of the road "Many" times. Maybe folks in your neck of the woods got tired of helping your sorry ars out. Ever think of that? "Look.. JoeCapy broke down again..." "I wouldnt let him change a spark plug in my Lawn Mower!"

Dont go taking your breaks on the side of the road unless its a rural one.

Explain your definition of a Cry Baby if you please.

If you were on a lake in a storm and your boat was sinking would you think someone from the Brotherhood of the Boat People would lend a hand or let you swim it in? Or you just being a Cry Baby?

There are Bikers and there are Bike Riders. Seems to be more of the Latter.

Remember the Thread is "Whatever happen to the Brotherhood". Brothers/Sisters help and watch out for each other.

I have had this discussion many times before. I think it goes way beyond motorcycles, the whole country has changed it's values. People are not taught to look out for the other guy anymore. I see a lot of the "me me me" in the younger generation. It's not all they're fault they've been told all their life "don't talk to strangers" stay away from anyone you don't know.
Try walking down the street and simply smile and say "hello" to people you pass. Very few smile back, many get a horrified look and hustle past. It's a sad commentary on the times, but it seems that these are the times.
All that being said I've included a pic of my cantankerous Shovel, if anyone is in Michigan and you see this bike on the side of the road STOP...I never take a break on the side of any road....I would be broke on the side of the road! It's kind of like camping, I burnt my tent and sleepingbag a few years ago...so if you see me lying on the ground call 911 because I'm not down there cause I want to be!

Jp i live on a lake and i tow people in all the time more than the average boater on my lake. A cry baby is someone who expects other people to fix their problems. I dont break down often compared to the miles i ride. And i said i would help any one in a car on a boat or on a bike thats why i carry a full tool kit with me. Do you realy have trouble chainging your mowers spark plug, read the service manual. Frisco, i didn't mean to offend any one i just ment to say i like to be independant and fix my own problems.

Default Re: What ever happened to brotherhood

yep no fair bells for the new guys, ( myth ) i stop , its a pain . brotherhood went out with the ricco laws, only kidding.
yes things are different today, first harley for 4 years now, but have ridden the hondas kawasaki's , now the harley. people back then loved life not money, not as much. people loved bikes and the older ones started riding young , a very different time today is. ive had 3 different bikes plus the two yamahas i bought for the brothers children. the difference then was not how many bikes you owned but how long you owned them, it wasnt really about what you rode but that you rode. or im full of dung, you decide. but some one did stop , so some one was raised right.
