seafoam reviews - Google Search

According to the Seafoam site it contains -----

Pale Oil ----- which is just one of Many synomyms of a Heavy Paraffinic Solvent found in Quaker, Wal-Mart, Havoline, Valvoline etc. motor oils, Anti-Seize, almost all STP gas, oil and injector treatments, Paints, Furniture polish, Nutragena SunBlock, Hair products and literally about 50 other things..

Naptha ---- Just a simple Hydrotreated Light Petroleum

and

ISA ---- this is precious,, it's just Isoproply Alchohol - 2 Proponol

Ooh yeah--- Have a ball
Thanks for all the feedback. It seems like it works well in the fuel system but the crankcase? Naaaa I don't think so!

Back in the late 70's early 80's there was a water injection experiment....done by GM if I remember right, supposedly was to eliminate carbon build up. when you spray in a little water, the cold water would hit the hot carbon and makes it explode and blow it out the exhaust.
I knew a guy with a Corvette with this on there. Supposedly it got a 10% gain in hp. I dont know how, but thats what he said.
I have sprayed water in my (car) motor to blow out the carbon, but then I followed up with a small dash of tranny fluid to "lube" the 'clean' surfaces after the water treatment. I still dont know if it did any good, but we tried it. The car didnt seem to 'load up' as easy after that.

Yo,Street/others...Scott & Tipper are right...although Tipper could have been clearer about the difference between "squirting" and "spraying" water into your intake...

Onboard intake manifold water injecting syst'ms were actually manufactured and sold to the public, at one time. Then I guess fuel & delivery syst's etc got so much more efficient/complicated that the water thing went the way of the hula-hoop.

I have also known people to crack pistons back in the day for ingesting water in to their motors.

I think I'll stick to seafoam... less risk!

That's the difference vetween 'squirt' and 'spray'. you would hafta 'squirt' a lot of water into a motor to hydraulic the thing and lose a piston.
One time I fired up a 289 motor in my race boat , it was bored out .030 with 12:1 domed pistons , it had water in the cylinders from the wet exhaust.... all it did was blow out the head gaskets...... but that wasnt from a little spray bottle... it was from being in a lake......
