And Tommy, I feel for you guys. Since I'm on a roll, I will email the MoCo and demand they start making snowmobiles again. This time with a V-Twin. And apes and fishtails. Hmmmm......a Retro Snowmobile...I like it.

A snowmobile in Texas, whoda thought? | Guess I would have little use for one. But hey, for ya'll it would be awesome I would think. I keep reading about all the advice given for putting bikes in storage in northern climates and it just seemed wrong. I'm no marketing genius but why wouldn't HD make a sweet snowmobile? And if not the MoCo, what about any V-Twin manufacturer? They'd be sold as fast as they could make them initially. Any thoughts on this one?

It sure did tear up stuff, but was fun as ever.
I seen 'em run them thangs at the drag races too! saw one do a 9 second quarter mile! But it weren't a Harley, so I say go for it! Use your influence and see if they can get them in production soon. |

| | Re: Klockwerks Flare Windshield Well, the new 8.5" KW windshield is on order and I should have it by Friday.
As far as the snowmobile goes, I'm really curious as to why HD doesn't take a crack at that market. Think I'll start a new thread and see what the masses think......

| | Re: Klockwerks Flare Windshield I live about 50 miles from Arctic Cat and just a little from home of Polaris and I don't think either of them have been doing too great lately, selling sno-cats, so I don't honestly think H-D will enter such a soft market. Lots of people who used to make them are no longer around selling them. Massey-Fergeson, Sno-jet, Viking, Yamaha, to name a few.
I just put the Ultra into storage, now rain/snow mix and 30 degrees. Summer and Fall were way too short again this year. Seems like that has been happening ever since I got back into H-Ds. Is this a joke from Mother Nature or something?

It sure did tear up stuff, but was fun as ever. | When I lived in Alaska they used to put wheels on them and ride during the summer. Kinda like the 21" narrow wheels on a Wide Glide. They didn't hold up to a lot of abuse though. Need wider and stronger tires on them.
My thoughts on HD making snowmobiles is that some will complain they are AMF all over again. Although I am one who feels AMF was good for HD. I know that is not a popular opinion. I had one (76 Super Glide) and it was great. It is the reason I am still in love with the SG and was the catalyst for buying my 2004 SG. And if I remember right (I read it somewhere, I think AIM) AMF modernized the equipment and did the R&D for the EVO motor. Any way that is my thought on the subject, not that anyone cares.

| | Re: Klockwerks Flare Windshield I read the same thing you did about AMF Cowboy and I also had an AMF like millions of others. It was an 80 Tour Glide, rubber mount, 5 speed oh yeah! An ugly seat that was good for consecutive iron butts........butt then again my @$$ was several years younger. Now I can't find a good seat for nuthin..........Maybe we can get AMF on that. | | | |
