On another thread I was discussing how I read about all the guys in northern climates that have to store their bikes for the winter and I thought that was really a shame. So, I was wondering why HD didn't make a snowmobile for the HD faithful. Turns out they did at one time.

Apparently, it didn't do very well but why not try again? So, how about a show of hands from the north. If HD made one, would you buy it? I'm no marketing genius but it seems like a logical extension of their business. They certainly have the resources and a ready made clientele. Any thoughts?

I wish I could find an old one . I think it would be cool to ride a retro sled .
I wonder what kind of sled they would build today ? Harley has Mercury marine do work for them now . Mercury built sleds in the 70s too .
Maybe team up ?

My Uncle had an AMF Skidadler 440(?) when I was a kid. I do not recall if it had Harley on the side or not. Maybe it just had the AMF logo and was not a Harley.

Even though the snowmobile project didn't work out for them, I hear from an insider at Harley that they are doing some research into producing personal watercraft. It's all hush-hush but he was able to sneek out a picture of one of their prototypes.

my Dad rode a 1945- 45" for years through the 40's and 50's. Then one day he said "I want a Knucklehead" and poof my Brothers were born!

If that's a GPS thingy on the handlebar of Monkey's personal water craft I'd have to say it wasn't doing its job.
