Default hydraulic lifters install

ya know i was screwing around in the garage and after tooling around i found it would be better if i installed new hydraulic lifters ? my 05 has 30k on it and i put in a new system ridding myself of the dreaded plastic shoes and chains in exchange for belt and gears.
here is my question: can hydraulic lifters be replace through the top by removing the hydralic lifter covers and pulling them out from the top of the casing? i just finiched the cam and new system install but did not realize that i may have to replace the hydralic lifters because of wear patterns established by the old cams , ect ect. so is it possible to just pull the hydraulic lifters out of the top of the casing? the bike is running and just needs to have a map made and the cams are a bolt in from woods performance. anyone know?

Yes,the lifters can be removed if you have adjustable pushrods.

I am uncertain of the exact interval that is recommended, but I replace my lifters every 25K miles. Its cheap insurance.

One more thing (Yea I know here I go sounding like I know what I'm talking about) is if he has the stock pushrods he can cut them with bolt cutters and replace them with adjustable pushrods and then he will be able to change lifters now and in the future. That was done on my bike at 47,000 when the cam tensioners were replaced.

wow you sure have your act together all those certification, thanks for the reply. i ordered a set of fueling lifters and hope they are ok. there was also a listing for jims but the guy at the shop said that they were for more serious builds and at the stated price very exspensive, so i wonder if i am being penny wise and pound foolish. thanks for the come back. i test rode the bike today and it didnt blow up. this is the first time i have done anything like this, usualy i just do basic maintenence.
