I did try this once on one of my trips to Sturgis. Actually I used a walkman at that point. Anyway, I thought it distracted me. I kept fighting with the earbuds, and the music itself took away from me listening to the engine and the other bikes around me. I guess I am old but I don't think it allowed me to concentrate on my riding. Ya, it was only music but somehow I felt it interfered with my situational awareness. MY FLH had a broken antenna wire and broken antenna when bought it. I will put a new antenna and antenna wire on it and bring it back up to stock. Will I ever use it except while I am working on the bike? Probably not... Thanks.

Ya coulda freaked me out if you didn't confess, Cowboy cause that's a tough one.
tommyglide I'm a Cowboy and I listen to Cowboy Music. I know who Molly Hatchet is but I couldn't tell you a single song they sang. It is a group right?
Psyco, with as many times as I have said darn psyco you beat me to it and you have said the same, I think maybe our voices are talking to each other.

On long all day rides I will listen to music. In town I usually stick with my pipes.
When my wife and I are riding two up, she prefers the sound of pipes and wind.
I enjoy the solitude on my bike. Gives me time to think. I also googled and came up with John Lennon and the Beatles,"all we are saying is give peace a chance".

The story is that the song tommyglide was talking about was written about Lennon.

Wow............ you guys are frigg'n great. Really.
All this talk of music is fantastic.
My reply was wind and pipes. Truth be known, I long for a radio....
BUT, NOT EARBUDS..............
I want the option of being able to have music, really. I've test rode many bikes and I do want the music "in the fairing" system.
But... I think people should not use the earbuds, or any system that requires you to have small speakers in your ears, no matter how low you keep it. It really is different when the music is coming out of the fairing, and, I especially like the "ultra" with the ability to have it coming from the back and front, VERY NICE.
Just not directly in the ear......
And please, thats just my opinion.

I like having the option. Some days it's just the wind, other days I've been burning some cd's with mostly oldies. Got some Foreigner, Humble Pie, Led Zeppelin, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Van Halen, Guns N Roses, Chicago, Fleetwood Mac, ZZ Top, and Motley Crue.
Before I bought this bike, the previous owner had put some pretty loud pipes on it. They don't look like they have any baffles to me at all. I do have a fairing sound system as you call it. For the grins and giggles I tried to listen to it, once... The pipes are pure Harley. There is NO way I could hear the radio even turned up all the way! I don't know, if I want to listen to the radio I better just drive my SUV. As a side note, I can hear the stereo pretty OK on city streets. Next thing I'll want is a beer and remote control.
OK I give up. I vote for AC/DC. Who's your daddy! Who is your daddy? Whew, glad I got that off my chest. It's hard being reserved and sensible all the time.
