| | Need a Battery? A friend just bought a battery for his bike and I needed one too. The best of surprises came when after I called the local HD store (Hundred Dollar store) and they told me...That'll be a $112.00. I said thank you very much and moved on.
The friend recommended: (Arizona Battery,866 597-3709), and ask for Bob. I paid about 1/2 as much for a AGM battery, 12 volt/20 AH) for my Sporty 1200 S.
No, I didn't know about them till I called, and sure I love to find an honest company too. I think you'll be happy with them and it's my 2 cents worth.

| | Re: Need a Battery? My 2nd battery (East Penn/Deka Mfg) was SNUG, and this new one measures the same as the old one. If I'm not mistaken (and I'm good at that), the original battery-I'd bet-was made by Yuasa/Excide (OEM).

| | Re: Need a Battery? There are lots of battery options... anywhere from walmart cheap to $400 liothioum battieries. Tell me what you want to spend and I can start throwing links.
However, with the great avalibility, good made in USA, you just can't go wrong with a HD AGM battery.
sure you can find cheaper but they are just that. cheaper and lower quality. Go for it. Good luck!

| | Re: Need a Battery? Agree with Gas Man, I just replaced my original 4 1/2yr old battery with the H-D battery! Haven't used a tender or anything. $89+ tax. Thats acceptable to me! |

| | Re: Need a Battery? I would agree. My battery was going south when I bought this bike. It only had two years on it. But with my bad ignition it was just done for. So I went to Advanced Auto Parts to have it deep cycled. While I was there I found the same battery for like 75.00. It was sort of an emergency so I bought one there. Seems to work fine. |

| | Re: Need a Battery? My friend, who is right into designing solar systems, (what does that have to do with batteries?), said batteries from Mexico are better than US made batteries.
He said he's researched this, and found that the batteries made in Mexico have thicker plates, and should last much longer.
Of course, he's alos thinking about replacing his aging battery bank with (1) one, huge fork lift battery! He's checking the electrical capacity.

| | Re: Need a Battery? Hey Sino.
While I don't have any info on "Mexican" batteries, I'm sure they are as good as any out there. I do, have lots of experience with even (what might be considered-cheaper batteries) Korean, are equally as good too.
I think the bottom line is "they" are out to rip us all and make a chunk of change off us.
This time I'm playing it a bit smart and getting a battery tender (probably from Harbor Freight) because it costs about $10.00 and has the same label as the $39.00 one!
