Default jagg oil cooler

has anyone noticed that the hardware to tighten the jagg cooler to the
down tube doesnt really tighten. i recieved about 4 different brakets to fix the
cooler to the down tube. The plastic fixture really doesn't tighten , it seems more like the nut and bold will tighten all the way through the mounting fixture and ruin it before it will become tight , and it doesnt look like it will become rigid tight . has anyone any idea's or past experience with this one.

harold,
i installed mine with no problems..those brackets are different sizes (i.d.) the bolts are diff. lengths. so find the right match then practice tightening the bolts nuts to the right bracket and make sure the nuts are wedged properly into the nut side of the bracket and sitted right. then undo the bolt leaving the nut inplace..the mount and tighten alternating upper and lower bolts til they sit evenly..make sure you cut your hoses the right length so the don get in the way of the filter for future access to the filter removal during service

Yep, different size clamps for the varied diameter of the frame. My Road King frame tube is wider at the top clamp connection than at the bottom.

Instructions on on the Jagg website:

1. Determine cooler placement on left frame tube by holding
cooler to approximate height of desired location.
2. Choose the appropriate size clamps for your application
according to specific frame diameter at the point of
mounting. For 1000/1200 kits use included 1/16” rubber
shim material with 1-1/8” clamps for 1” frame diameter.

Agreed. Nicely put.

This is what you deal with with a "one size fits all" mod. So many damn models now, I remember when there was an Electraglide, Superglide and Sporster - period.

thats pretty much what i did but the parts are plastice, i cycle'd the different sizes and found the right one , its snug but it could be tighter, what im worried about is tightening thru the plastic to try and get it imovable when perhaps snug is as good as it will get with plastic fixtures.
