| | H-D New Model Coverage, Good or Bad? In the November and December issues, we gave you all the specs for the new Harleys. Many pages were devoted to this coverage. Was these two features of use to you, or did we waste the space?
Note: Due to my magazine production and travel schedule I will not be giving responses to posts made here. However, I will be checking them as often as possible to get your feedback. Thank you for helping us make American Iron Magazine the best it can be.

| | Re: H-D New Model Coverage, Good or Bad? I'd personally say its helpful / interesting to see what the models are bringing to the table. It is also good to see if your trying to decide between buying a used or left over model vs. a brand spanking new bike. |

| | Re: H-D New Model Coverage, Good or Bad? I am not in the market for a new bike but I like keeping up with what Harley is doing. I really like the coverage of the new bikes. That and the tech articles are what sets AIM apart from the rest. Being able to leave it out on the coffee table is a plus too.

| | Re: H-D New Model Coverage, Good or Bad? I saw the models , Its ok to post them,
but a pic and brief ride review would be better.
Harley builds in the United States , is there anything better. Many are looking to motorcycles.
There are alot of independent thinker who love the purity of cruising , site see-ng without blowing the whole wad on gas.The out of car experience. I would love Harley to be the rock solid bike it could be right out of the box, and be the envy of the world. that would be all the advertising it would need. with this in mind anything that helps harley out is ok with me.
i have a question ? Does anyone think that being able to repair and work on your harley is a kind of right of passage in the Harley community?
Lastly the one world luvy duvy EPA should lay off Harley and be extremely more reasonable with them , Harley manufactures in the United States. some would say it's protectionism , hey ! they employ people, your damb right it is. p.s it would be interesting for some one to lay out what kind of use the different models loan themselves to , except the baggers of coarse.

| | Re: H-D New Model Coverage, Good or Bad? Please, don't ever stop with the reviews. Very interesting from my perspective. I was really looking forward to the street bob review, and it was all that I expected. I own an 07' street bob and I love it. It is the best handling motorcycle that I've ever had, including my ridgid pan. Although, all the upgrades from 1949 to 2007 were a real plus. That being said, all ridgids were a solid platform. But this dyna( my first) is without a doubt, the most stable platform of all. I've owned two soft tails and felt they really lacked in the handling department. The dyna is far more superior, IMHO.......
I really look forward to the reviews, keep them ongoing, for ALL of us.........

I have always felt that there are two kinds of riders. Ones that pay somebody hundreds of dollars to change oil and make adjustments. And those that want to see and feel and know how those parts are working. I spend a least as much time poking and prodding and adjusting as I do on the road. You don't have to be a mechanic to do service work, and you don't have to have a rolling tool chest. Just the service manual and the desire. I use the $ I save by doing my own work to buy tools and the newest "gotta have" for the bike.

| | Re: H-D New Model Coverage, Good or Bad? I am coming up on 1000 miles. I just sold my 2000 FXST which I bought new and rode for almost 48000 miles in ten years. That is my only HD reference. So far I would have to say and my wife pointed it out to me, it is called a Softail for a reason. Back to the WG. I like it. The suspension is stiffer than I am used to but that also gives back in a more sporty feel. It handles very, very well. At 6' and 200 pounds I find the WG a more comfortable riding position. My legs are a bit more stretched and having my arms up and out of my lap has helped improve my posture while riding. As for purists and the bob tail fender, I really like the chopped fender with the integrated blinker/tail lights. The redesigned model is largely why I sold my FXST and bought it. My modifications right out the door were the SE heavy breather, SE performance exhaust, complimented with the HD download and quick release compact smoked windshield. I haven't gotten on it yet, my break in service is this Friday. To the other post. I have done my own wrenching for years now with the exception of warranty work. It is just plain cheaper to by a manual and a few tools. This one will be done by the dealer. I do like the fuel injection and 6 speed transmission, very smooth. It will be several months before I can really say how much more this bike will pull than my Softail did, it ran quite well. So far though I can tell it wants to scoot. So, other than getting used to a stiffer ride on the lower back, I really do like the new WG, styling gets an A+ from me, wouldn't change a thing.
