Default Re: Electronic Throttle

I had two issues with the electronic throttle on my 08 FLHX. First it took some getting used to as it was a little jerky at first. I actually did a couple of accidental burnouts on corners, and with the horse power I have that was a scary situation. I am used to it now and like it.
I did have a problem with the electonics at about 3,000 miles and H-D would not warrantee it because I had the 58mm throttle body. I thought that was Chicken-S because the electronics part was exactly the same on the stock 50mm T.B. If I have any further trouble with the H-D throttle body, I will switch to the Jim's racing one. Much better warrantee!

I have no complaints with my 09 RCC other than the throttle being a little jerky/touchy just off idle and I wish they idled a little lower.

Other than that this bike is great, rides great, handles great and the cruize is flawless.

I'm rdiding an 09 road glide and no problems. I have 3000 miles and been terrific. No problems with the idle resetting on me. Most semis for almost 10 years and a good majority of automobiles have been "fly by wire for quite aawhile and been relatively trouble free. Its a proven technology, just not bolted to a Harley before. My only complaint is that the throttle rolls so easily. That's terrific when riding. However I've had times on corners where I'll tighten my grip on the throttle and suddenly the engine just takes off midway through a board dragger. Scary. You learn to smarten up after 2 or 3 of those though.
