| | I haven't read or heard of any problems - but I'm always wary of new technology until it has been out and proven for some time. I still like things mechanical - easy to fix when they break, and it seems, less costly. Plus, I just ain't that smart.

| | Got it on my 08 e-glide, mostly invisible, unless you stall or shut off with a partially open throttle, where ever throttle was at shut off, that is the new idle setting. Then you have to reset the electronics.

| | I read the 08's had this problem, and they needed a flash download to compensate till a true fix was devised at HD. I was just wondering if this was fixed on the 09's.
If any of you with 09's have had a problem with the electronic throttle, ie idle or other issues, please join in. I am sure new buyers and owners of the 07's and 08's woulf also be interested.

| | I just rode an '09 Classic 2500 miles. The throttle was normal to me. I stalled it once and when restarted it was a normal idle. If you pulled the clutch while the cruise was set the engine revved briefly and returned to idle. The cruise was very accurate (more so than some autos I drive). It increased throttle up the mountain and maintained speed down the mountain. A tap or the front or rear brake cancelled the cruise as well as pulling the clutch. If you accelerated while the cruise was on it returned to the previous speed when the throttle was released.
I enjoyed it very much.

| | I have some experiance w/ the 08 version on my road king, as has been stated if you have moved the throtle as you shutdown or stall it the damn thing will change idel on ya.
To reset it all ya do is 1: do not touch the throtle 2: turn on & off the ignition switch 4 four times and per my H-D dealer and my experiance this fix's the problem till you ham hand it again like me.
I was warned about the ETC when I bought my bike but I didnt know it was gona a be the pain in the a$$ it has been but now that I am used to it it isnt so bad ( so far ) I would still prefer the old cable system |

| | You can also cancel the cruise by rolling the throttle forward. It will remember the speed you had set, but just disengages the cruise control. |

| | I was just thinking......Hmmmmm. I think a flick of my wrist and a tug on a cable is a lot quicker than some little electronic current. Yup I am quicker than the speed of light. Able to walk around tall buildings with many steps.... | | | |
