I have no idea how much oil they take. Have you got them disassembled for repair? If they are not apart yet get a beaker or measuring cup and pour the oil in there to measure the volume.

Default Showa shocks issue

I picked up a set of dealer take offs from a street glide. The previous owner neglected to plug the shocks. I got them with most of the oil in the box instead of in the shock. There is no data available. I soppose I could bleed a stock shock and refill the 12" street glide with the same amount or a bit less as they are 1'' shorter.

That will do the trick. Are you lowering the front forks too? If not exercise caution as this will slightly increase the rake slowing the handling a bit. Be careful on corners with regard to ground clearance as well in either case.

I am planning to lower both sides. I need to research Arlen Ness's drilled dampers vs. the more traditional spring set up. Thanks for the info.

Rear Air suspention shock use 71/2-8 oz of shock oil that you can purchase ant any ATV dealer in several wt. oils. I tried 10 wt. but it made the shocks stiff. I would suggest a 7.5 wt.
