305.00 Holy cow! Of course when I have crashed it will seem like a small amount of money. Even though that would be a justified expense to me, selling it to my already skeptical wife would be, mmm, difficult. But I did see that someone had written an article about it. Seems like a pretty straight forward install. Lots and lots of money.

mark, before you pony up for the trutrack take a look at the Progressive unit. This unit like the TWR unit I purchased does not hang below the transmission where it can be hit by debris flying off the front wheel, or scraped on a curb. The TWR unit sells for $289 the Progressive unit $189. There are several web sites showing what a wobble looks like as well as the insuing crash. I think your wife will see the reason for spending the $$, given what can happen.

My '96 Ulta Classic gets a wobble when I get around 60 or better, on a straight road, just cruising. I t sucks, too, cause I hate all the drivers whizzing by, especially the big trucks, and thier side drafts. I checked progressive out today, even watched thier install video, and that seems the way to go. For most apps, they cost $199. I had the shake during braking when I first rode the bike home, but correcting tire pressure fixed that. Oh, I don't know about bikes made after '96, but I read on a forum somewhere that the swingarm axle needs to be upgraded to a thicker diameter also.

Sounds like your Ultra may be in need of a chassis alignment and/or swingarm bearing check.
As it behaves now, neither TrueTrack nor any other "add on" would help.

Thanks for the advice. Next not-below-freezing or wet weekend I'm going to ride to a shop I know and trust in Rome, GA where I used to live to have him check it out for me. I don't know any good wrenches here in H'ville (my uncles don't know any around here anymore either, except the no-to-trustworthy HD dealer). I wrench cars and RVs, but stuff like these alignments I haven't done. Take it easy
