Default Hogtunes Speakers

Anyone ever swap out the stock speakers with these Hogtune ones? I notice at hwy speed sound is distorted. Figure it would give me an excuse to open up the fairing. Also considering an antenna tucked inside the fairing. Any recommendations? BOtz

Yes I did change out my stock speakers for the Hog Tunes - They are great and worth the money. I didn't install the amp...didn't think I needed it and I don't - cruise above the speed limit most of the time.

Money well spent.

I upgraded also. They sound great! My H-D mechanic suggested using a car antenna from AutoZone in the fairing....Works great with no vibration, good reception, no motor noise, etc. and saved some $$. Be sure to check your fairing brackets for cracks while you have it apart.

With upgraded speakers, the HK radio will be louder than you'll ever need. Unless you're going for "arena sound", save the money on the amp.

Here's a page on hidden antennas:

eGlide Goodies

I can't speak from experience on how well these work; I stuck with the shorty antenna behind the saddlebag when I took the Tour-Pak off the Electra.

Have fun!

Installed the Hog Tunes speakers test drove the sound and it was awesome. Not one to leave well enough alone, I have since installed the amp. Holy geez!!! is my bike still running? must be, at 120km per hour. No sound comming from the Rineharts, it's all tunes now. WOW!

I have put the Hogtune speakers on my Roadglide about 3 weeks ago. Too bad the weather has not been nice enough on the weekends to take it for a spin and see how they sound. I tried the J & M speakers eariler this year. The J & M speakers sound great at low speeds, but at highway speeds the vocals, and high notes in the songs hurt my ears (Girlfriend said she could not hear the J & M ones as well as the stock ones). I cannot wait to see how the Hogtunes sound. I am not saying the J & M speakers are not good (they gave me a full refund even thou I had installed them). They just did not work for me.
