Default Speaker kits

I am thinking about putting a speaker kit on my Road King Classic. I have a lot of mixed info. First the price of some of the kits are way to much money. Second is the conflicting reviews on quality. Not loud enough, not enough wattage etc. Needless to say I am looking for cheap & good. Anyone with help? Thanks Mike

You get what you pay for. I recently installed the quadzilla on my rk classic and I like everything about it. I will miss the tunes when I remove it for the summer but then there was a time I never thought I would own a bagger especially with a fairing. I will be using it on all long trips all year.I did see a mini setup for handlebars that sounded good at a bike show. that might be the best way to compare.

never buy anything from dragonfly cycle concepts, yeah they look ok but the paint is garbage customer service sucks sooo much , i dropped 2 grand on a fairing screaming eagle white and blue pearlescence, i was promised i would get it before laughlin in 3 months, i didnt i was at laughlin and i saw the booth and the owner jackass had one in stock and wouldnt give it to me, so i can buy one at the show but when i pay for it 3 months in advance i get screwed, i Guess he is to busy to get work done that he has already paid for i was given bull excuses, and im still waitiong for my money this was almost 2 years ago

As much as I like Kuryakyn, their handlebar mount speakers just don't cut it. I first saw them at Daytona bike week and almost bought them on the spot. Then my brother told me he had just bought them and I went to check them out. He as a road king with Sampsons and you can't hear the speakers at all over 45 MPH (and that was with the windshield on). I drive a heritage and and figure that test driving his bike with those speakers saved me $400. I'm still looking for a solution that does not involve a fairing.

I put J&P amplified speakers on my 97 RoadKIng - and never regretted it - good sound - plugged in my IPOD or a small radio - they worked fine for the 7 years I ran them - you get what you pay for......

Anbody know any good reason to buy motorcyle specific speaker replacements for electraglides? They are WAY too much money! You can go to radio shack and get 100 watt 5" speakers for $30-40. Is it something to do with the ohms? What am I missing?
