Question ECM Upgrade??

Hi fellow riders. Just acquired an 08 FLHTC and have installed the Rinehart Eaglebeak slip ons. Have built many carb bikes but this is the first EFI model I've owned. Looking to find the best fuel management system for Fly-by-wire throttle. Zippers is working on it and the others don't seem to use the oxygen sensors. Anybody have a system on their fly-by-wire? that works well and is programmable from home? Don't really want to rely on the dealer for anything.

There are lots and I mean lots of answers to your question. I've tried the SERT and Zippers Tmax on my 2006 Deluxe. Really didn't like either one even after spending lots of money on dyno tunes at the dealer. I think my dealer really didn't know how to tune using their dyno on an EFI bike.

For my 2009 FLTR I decided to go the Power Commander route basically because of the number of tuners that are listed on the Dynojet site. I got my from Jamie at fuelmotousa.com. Easy to install. Jamie preset the base map for me. Works like a charm so far.

Of course others will have their own answers.

Thanks CincyMAT, just curious though? Is your 09 throttle by wire? if so was there any problems with the calibration of the throttle sensing unit to deal with?
I've used dynomax jet kits for carbs and I like the manufacturer so the Power Comander may be the route to go (provided it comes with Oxy sensor recognition)

The Power Commander V (PCV) I purchased does not as a base unit use the O2 sensors in the pipes. However, they do have an Auto-Tune module that includes a set of wider band O2 sensors that will help tune a motor. If I were you I'd call fuelmotousa and ask for Jamie. He'll get you on the right path.

There was no issues setting up the throttle by wire on my bike since it was preset by fuelmoto. I asked them about it before ordering and they told me how to should I need to do it. Really pretty simple.

best,

Mark
